Youth Program
An Adams County Youth Program offers exposure to jobs and skills that will open doors to career paths and opportunities.
Our Challenge – Meeting the Needs of Youth in the World of Work
Adams County Foundation helps accomplish many of the step-by-step goals needed to educate and inspire Adams County Youth about their options as career minded adults.
Many young people find themselves feeling confused after having graduated from high school. They graduate with no idea of what jobs they can do and have little knowledge of what skills are needed for available jobs.
A Divide Between Test Scores and Real Knowledge
Schools are teaching students to pass the CSAP test. Often there is no connection between the information students have learned versus what they need to know to thrive in a job or career.
Our Solution: Reconnecting Schools with Students’ Needs
Last year, the Adams County Education Consortium was formed by the Adams County Economic Development office to reconnect schools with job and career education. Now the Adams County Foundation supported Youth Program is in partnership with school districts and business and training organizations, including the Workforce & Business Center. Students are exposed to career options very early now, as young as the 8th grade.
With the support of our donors we offer the Youth of Adams County:
• Future Stability
• Leadership Development Opportunities
• Exposure to Careers
• Job Training
• Access to Jobs
• Adult Mentoring
• Support and Encouragement
Adams County Foundation Donors keep our programs viable, producing excellent results for our children. To begin the donation process call (303) 654-6222 to speak to the Program Manager who can provide you the answers you need.
